Webinar on new supply chain human rights due diligence requirements in Germany and the EU
THURSDAY, OCTOBER 20TH, 2022
2:00p.m. to 3:00p.m. CET
On 1 January 2023, the new German Supply Chain Due Diligence Act requires large companies in Germany to meet specific due diligence requirements regarding human rights risks in their national and international supply chain. The new obligations will be subject to a public enforcement, involving considerable fines for non-compliance. International companies doing business with affected companies in Germa- ny will have to adjust to the new scheme. They will be required by their German customers to agree to new Terms & Conditions and may be subject to human rights audits. At the same time, the EU is discussing a proposal by the European Commission for a Directive on corporate sustainability due diligence. That proposal aims to introduce obligations similar to those in Germany in all Member States.
