Mainly active in commercial and contractual matters, Nicolas has a specific expertise in the field of retail and distribution law and is an acknowledged specialist in franchising, agency and sales concession.

Addressing the needs of manufacturers, importers or their distributors, Nicolas has the various forms of expertise required to translate their distribution projects into legal solutions. This involves: (i) the choice of contract type (distribution, agency, franchise), and its drafting and negotiation, (ii) following up on its performance whenever essential clauses have been breached or are about to be breached (territorial exclusivity, sales objectives, criteria for the selection of suppliers, etc.), (iii) the methods of termination, whose financial implications are usually very significant (notice period, clientele indemnity, stock resale, etc.).

Nicolas has written numerous articles and books in his various areas of specialisation.

He combines his transactional practice with his litigation practice covering the same areas. He therefore represents clients in commercial and corporate litigation before the Belgian courts and arbitration tribunals.
