After having graduated from the Institut d’études politiques of Bordeaux and the Ecole Nationale des impôts and started his career in the tax administration, Eric joined Fidal’s Le Mans office in 1991 as a tax specialist. Promoted to partner in 1998, he was appointed Orléans Office Director in 2000, before becoming the Nantes Regional Director in 2008. In 2016, the Le Mans and Nantes regional divisions combined to form the Val de Loire Océan regional division, of which Eric Joanne was one of the founders. In 2019, he was appointed Deputy Chief Executive Officer of the firm.
